When someone mentions to me that they want a vacation with great food, I always think of Disney Cruise Line!
When someone mentions to me that they want a vacation with great food, I always think of Disney Cruise Line!
I personally have done 45 DCL vacations and although one is never an expert, I can attest to the level of service and restaurants to eat at while on a DCL vacation.
Are you a foodie, or do you aspire to be one? Not everyone is, so maybe you just want a romantic spot for your significant other?
If you want to enjoy a quiet Michelin rated dinner, Remy is your place. This is the only Michelin rated French restaurant on the high seas! (There is an up charge) but the food is to die for! It’s suited for a perfectly romantic dinner with tons of service! Small servings are here, but just enough that the Chef knows to fill you, and give you ultimate flavors!
Another upscale restaurant that you pay additional for is Palo. An Italian style restaurant with amazing food! Quite different, but just as romantic where tasty Italian food sets the course for this restaurant! The staff here (again) are so willing to please and set the tone for not only a great dinner (or brunch) but also to ensure that you get everything you pay for!
If you don’t want to pay extra for food, NO problem! DCL has 3 main dining rooms on each ship which you will rotate between. If you are on a 3 night sailing, you WILL be in each restaurant one night! The best part of this? Your waiter/waitress moves with you in what DCL calls rotational dining! Wow! How innovative! This group of people not only learn your likes and dislikes, but also help you with suggestions. Foods range from steak, chicken and fish meals nightly, but one night there is even lobster! If you can’t make up your mind, order two! Or, you love something and want more? It’s okay, you’re on vacation!
Oh, and not to worry about food allergies (like I have) DCL makes sure that you know every night what you can eat based on what you have already alerted them to! I actually pre-order the night before based on the recommendations of the staff! They will advise about cross-contamination and what I can and cannot eat (even bread service)!
In addition, there is a free activity on the ships, called “Anyone Can Cook”. It’s a great activity with a Chef from Palo or Remy cooking a sample food, and it’s a great way to know if you want to enjoy a meal at the extra cost.
One more thing to mention, the food courts on DCL have a plethora of options from pizza and chicken fingers, to even BBQ options on the Disney Wish. Great for lunch or just a quick bite!
Not to forget, room service! Where the options are complimentary 24/7. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack options available! Indulge, order a Mickey bar to your room…or warm cookies and milk for a midnight snack.
Whatever and where ever you order, it’s service with a smile. That’s the Disney way!
Believe me, the food options aboard Disney Cruise Line are amazing!
